Kick with Swix VR45 was perfect today. VR45 is a great wax for between what would normally work in a violet/blue area i.e. multigrade (such as rode multigrade violet) but with faster glide and better wear.

Glide on Toko Blue was okay but Swix CH 4 - 6 mix would have been better as the new snow even if its just 3mm this morning didnt work with it. Toko is not for cold new snow. You need Start Green or Swix for this.

Saturday

Kick: Toko Dibloc Dark Blue

Glide: Toko Blue m/w/ graphite

Friday, December 17, 2010

Friday

The new snow was an absolute bust so we now have dirt in the trails to some degree.

Kick: swix Vr40 x2, VR50 x1, VR 45 x1, with a binder ironed in before application (Toko) the formula of this VR wax will deal with the debris better than any other. The older snow means wax higher up the line but have a good solid firm underfoot or it will be gone asap.

Glide: Mix of Toko Blue and Toko Graphite, its not cold enough to require start green and is in between CH-7 and Start Green conditions. Graphite for the wear factor.

Vednesday

Kick: A few layers of Toko Dark Blue (yes this is no longer available) with a thin Toko Dark Red, then a cover of Toko Dark Blue did very well today.

Glide: Toko Blue ran very well today since it is warmer than start green conditions just slightly.

For tomorrow I would run the blue again and for kick move into either the Toko Bright or go with Extra Blue from Swix or possibly Rode. If you have Rex Blue that would also be a good glide option.

A Varmer Time

For Tomorrow

Kick: With increasing temp and humidity the wax goes from todays use of Norwegian Vr-40 to a higher humidity creation such as Star Red, Star Violet Flour. Recommend using Star Violet, Star Red, Star Violet Top Coat (Flouir).

Glide: Toxo Red 70, Yellow 30 with addition of LF or HF if you want to go faster.
